ATHANASIOS TSOUREKAS S.A. was founded in Thessaloniki by Athanasios Tsourekas, a young man at the time coming from Kokkinopilos, Olympus, who was hardworking and active, with a vision and a strong entrepreneurial spirit. Since 1934 he began transporting by cart in the wider region of Thessaloniki.
In 1938 he was issued his first license for a public-use cart, and he later replaced his carts with public-use lorries.
Thus the company commenced its activities in the road transport sector, transporting merchandise, special cargo and equipment to heavy industry plants in Northern Greece.
As of 1975, initially serving "MERZARIO", the company actively entered the field of container transport via the national road network as a pioneer, demonstrating unquestionable reliability and consistency.
Today it is one of the most remarkable, modern and rapidly developing companies in Thessaloniki and Northern Greece in general in the field of land transport.
The company's main facilities are on Leonidiou Street (perpendicular to Pontou Street in the KTEO district opposite MAKRO) and their distance from the port of Thessaloniki is almost equal to their distance from the Thessaloniki Industrial Area.
INFRASTRUCTURE
Our depot is rather large and ideal for the safe and easy storage of our clients' containers.
More specifically, our facilities include
- A privately-owned depot covering 18,000 sq. m. on Leonidou Street, which also houses the newly-built and modern buildings-offices of our company, and is used to store mainly loaded containers. The same area also houses the facilities of the container repair workshop, which is fully equipped and is capable of undertaking all kinds of repairs.
- A privately-owned depot covering 30,000 sq. m. at 2 Pontou Street (opposite the 2nd KTEO), which is used for storing empty containers and second-hand containers that are for sale.
- A privately-owned depot covering 10,000 sq. m. in Drama, which mainly serves the purpose of loading and unloading marble.
